Principal Neil Grungras has trained and advised over 3000 migration, asylum and refugee protection officers at scores of agencies throughout the world.
Neil was the first to identify the need for systematic capacity-building and training of migration professionals regarding gender- and sexually diverse (GSD) migrants. His training program on GSD migrants was launched in 2012 in Rabat, Morocco, under the auspices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees – UNHCR. With its emphasis on cutting-edge knowledge, cultural competence and participant-driven learning, the program was administered globally.
In 2016, Columbia University Teachers’ College scientifically assessed Neil’s training program’s effectiveness. The world leader in international education methodically surveyed over 700 participants before, during, and after training workshops. The evaluation team concluded that the program significantly enhanced participants’ capacity to perform their work in critical areas.
