HOW WE WORK WITH GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

Thank you for taking the time to consider Grungras Consultancy. The outsourcing of expertise is not a decision to be made lightly and we pledge you will be glad you did it.

Starting from our initial exploratory conversation, we will focus concretely on whether and how we can attain your goals. We begin each prospective engagement by conferring with agency and department managers to gain a clear picture of your performance exigencies, including strengths, improvement goals and other special considerations. We will:

  • Identify your agency’s needs, challenges and problems
  • Clarify goals surrounding performance, effectiveness, accuracy and perception
  • Diagnose perceived shortfalls
  • Assess which needs can be effectively addressed, and if so how
  • Explore which needs may be effectively addressed by Grungras Consultancy (and just as importantly – which cannot)
  • Identify which of our approach(es) are indicated

At the end of our exploratory conversation, you will know whether your agency’s needs can be addressed effectively by Grungras Consultancy’s Learner-Driven TrainingSM, capacity building or Credibility CounselingSM for claims based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression (SOGI/E). Within the agreed timeframe, we will prepare a concrete detailed proposal setting out the approaches and methodologies we have covered, along with a concrete cost structure.

This is an iterative process: After you have discussed the proposal internally, we will be ready to further hone it. Together, we will assemble a regimen tailored to your agency’s needs, capacities, time constraints and budget.

From that point — typically several weeks after the initial discussion — we will be ready to proceed: With most agencies, this will include an intensive site visit in which we get to know key aspects of your operations in meetings with key staff and observation of relevant premises and procedures. In certain limited scope short-term projects, we may agree to carry out this preparatory work remotely.

Our initial preparations will yield a detailed work plan complete with intended activities and concrete goalposts and milestones and, where appropriate, named staff members who will serve as program point-persons. Typically within two or three months, we will begin to implement our workplan.
